Obama accusing Bill Clinton being racist? What did Obama do for black people so far?

(I know that Clinton did tremendous job in Africa fighting AIDS and a lot in NY from his Harlem office).

I'm sure Bill Clinton is disappointed that so many blacks have turned their backs on him after what he has done for them as president. It was not for nothing that they called him the first black president.

But there are still some honorable and intelligent blacks, because Hillary did get about 20% of the black vote.

It doesn't matter who did what. Obama is not known for what he actually did, and so pretty much the only thing for him to use - the "fresh approach" getting a bit old - will be the race card.

Someone should say to Obama's people, "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining." They should have known better than to insult our intelligence, but Obama pretty much apologized for the campaign.

From what I've seen and read, it wasn't Obama it was one of his supporters. It was wrong and Barack should have distanced himself from the comment and "commentator." The race card should be played when it's necessary. "Crying Wolf" only hurts blacks in the long run. Obama did alot of work in Illinois for the poor and the uninsured... specifically for black people...not sure, but what did Bill do for black people? Opened an office in Harlem? No, what he did was stayed out of wars, made living affordable and created a surplus of money. By doing this he helped us all out. I--as a black man --am not looking for a candidate to do something for black people- When the President makes decisions and enforces policies that improve the American quality of life, he helps "us" all--black or white or pin-striped. I would like to see a unified America not a separatist state. That's why I'm voting for Obama. Besides the fact that my second favorite candidate (John Edwards) will be his running mate on the big ticket.

if obama really said that, how dare he? former pres. clinton has done a lot for the black community. as president he also made himself available to our every need. he was a president for everyone, not just a particular group of people. under the clinton leadership, all blacks in america felt like we were apart of this country, almost all of our needs (jobs, education opportunities, home ownership, healthcare, etc.) were not ignored by mr. clinton. which is why i am voting for hillary. we as black americans owe it to them.

if barrack should become president, congress will not work with him when it comes to meeting the needs of black americans. and there will be nothing he can do about it.

black americans are going to suffer the consequences should hillary become president for most of us are accusing her of being racist. when you do something like that to someone who has really been good to you, it is hard for that person to let it go away. which in turn, i think it may be hard for her to reach out to the black community. which is why we should never bite the hand that feeds us.

Okay, well Obama has actually done a ton for blacks so far as Miss already said. He was a civil rights activist in the Altgeld community in Chicago working with black churches (The title of his second book: The Audacity of Hope is actually the name of a sermon from the Trinity United Church of Christ, a black church he worked a great deal with).

As for Bill Clinton, I feel he's given way too much as being 'the first black president' welfare reform in the 90's helped to hurt blacks and more blacks went to prison during his administration than any other. So, I can't figure out why the Congressional black caucus decided to call him the first black president. Except that Toni Morrison described Bill Clinton as the first black president because he was born poor, working class, liked mcdonalds, and played the saxaphone (I'm serious, look it up). While Obama actually has a great deal of street cred with actually doing things with blacks he is constantly criticized for not doing anything, not being 'black' enough, and is seen as trying to rope in the black vote. I don't understand this rally round the new Clinton notion I've heard expressed by some black people because of this ridiculous and undeserved title. But that seems to be the case in America: vote now, research later.

Obama has done plenty for blacks if not more without the whole celebrity status. He was a civil rights attorney, while the Clinton's were living in the Governor's mansion and involved in illegal activity. Obama lived in some of the roughest neighborhood's in Chicago while he was a community activist and he was helping blacks get registered to vote, while the Clinton's were living in the white house and Bill was receiving oral sex from some chubby intern.

I'm talking about during and after his college years he lived in some of the roughest and most destitute areas in Chicago while working as a community activist and civil rights lawyer.
