How can a human rersource professional help the LGBTQ community? |
What are some of the ways that a human resource professional can help LGBTQ individuals gain equality in employment, training and benefits? Some off the ideas that I have include being available to talk, lobbying officials to provide benefits, and sharing education andd awareness programs. If a company can score a 100% on HRC's Corporate Equality Index for '06 I'd say they're well on their way to being GLBTQ friendly. http://www.hrc.org/template.cfm?section=... Source(s): I'm basically trans and les and working for a place that scored a 100% LGBTQ ? The B stands for bisexual? What rights does a bisexual person NOT have? *edited to add response to additional details* One way you can help LGT people is to not lump them in with Bisexuals. Why not put SadoMasichists in there too? There is no rights which Bisexuals are denied. They have the right to marry the opposite sex which, being bisexual they are attracted to. However being bisexual, it is impossible to be with two people and be monogamous so I guess they aren't into marriage, because if they had a preference they would'nt be bisexual. Anyhoo, I digress. Bisexuals have nothing to do with gays or lesbians, or even interesexed or transgendered people for that matter. Bisexual = no preference Heterosexual = has a preference Homosexual = has a preference. Sorry I can't help with your question past the point of my pet peeve about lumping bisexuals in with people who have legitimate equal rights issues. |
