How far can I go in Human Resources? |
I want to start over in a new field and HR seems like a good fit. Are there many sub-fields to this industry? Is this a rewarding career for those who are currently in it? Would I need graduate training? Any advice or information from anyone in HR would be great. well you can do many different things in HR- Subfields Recruiting (placing ads, job fairs, college campus visits, phone calls, etc) Hiring(orientation, training, interviews, applications) Safety (OSHA, training videos, claim reporting, insurance, etc) It is rewarding if you enjoy working with people and solving their problems. Their is advancement opportunities like becoming an HR manager where you actually manage other HR employees, Head of recruiting, Safety Director, etc) to my knowledge most HR positions only require a 2 year or 4 year degree although to be the head of HR you may consider getting a graduate degree. I would try out several HR positions first and see if you like the career before spending money on additional training. good luck Source(s): business major and working in some aspects of HR As far as HR field is concerned, there is no sub-fields further. This is a great carrer for dynamic & energetic peoples, but you definitely requires a graduate training in it,plus u need to be informative, factual n must know some pyscho of humans.Be confident n best of luck for great future. |
