Should I stay with my company? |
Ok so I work at a very large retailer. There a manager in the store and then about 7 assistant managers, which I am one of. I love my job, well as of three weeks ago. Two of my peers made a huge mistake and are now fired. One more is out for training. I don't have a store manager, district manager, brand new human resource manager because of people quitting or moving in the comany. Well basically we don't have any coverage, so I am working 60+ hours a week because there are just two store managers left that can run the building. I am not getting any support from my peers within the district, and feel helpless. I am stressed to the point where I don't sleep and want to cry on a constant basis. I think it will all go back to normal, but should I stay with a company that is working me to the bone like this. I feel like I am not important and I am just a body with keys in the store. To make it worse I am considered high potential. Would you stay or look for another job? 3 months agooh yeah and until now I loved my job Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. Personally, If I was going above and beyond what I was expected to do, I would demand some kind of gratitude. Whether it was in the form of flattery or cash. Often, I was told that I deserved more than what I was getting. If I did not receive such gratitude, I stopped working for it. Then, I was fired. I moved onto other bigger and better things where I was considered more valuable and more appreciated. Looking back on it all... I have not regretted any of my decisions. They got what they deserved and so did I. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! First be thankful you have a job , you also have time vested there, I would tough it out , it may pay off in a promotion or pay raise , I would suck it up , who ever said life is always a bed of roses, learn to leave work at work , sometimes you just have to bare it and grin, I used to work like that sometimes more than 60 hours a week , I lived well below my means , then saved all extra money as in no vacations for 10 years, no unnecessary spending , no new nothing.. I invested my savings , cashed it out , bought out my company, now all I do is check in once in a while on my employees and plan to retire in my late 40's maybe early 50's It was not easy at all it still is not easy , and I am no where near what one could call rich ..but I live stress free, and I am comfortable.. Hard work will pay off ... or you can be a wuss like everyone else ,and give up ,and start over with another job lign="right" > Sign in to vote! lass="explain-text">Sometimes none of the answers get it just right.
