If you have a BS degree in Psych, will it be hard to switch over and get an MBA??!!...? |
I kinda wish I would have went the Business route anyways, but there is this program that I plan to get into, and they are allowing psychology majors to get into it, but I am wondering how a Pysch major can make that switch over to getting a MBA? Will it be harder, is it more math, what all would I have to do?? Most MBA programs are flexible on your BA/BS degree as long as you have work experience. I also would recommend using your undergraduate degree in the "real world" for some time before applying for business school. So much of what they cover you can do with a student's mindset but without the context of a work environment under your belt, it will be very hard for you to translate the MBA into real contributions for you company. You'll probably only have to take a few prereqs: accounting, finance, management, etc. You could probably CLEP out of most of these, or take a few courses at a local CC to fulfill them. You might also have to take a business math course, at my local U a psychology major can graduate with precalc, any business major requires the equivalent of applied calc. There should be no more math at the grad level. Not sure about the HRM minor, you'd have to ask a program advisor. Business is worthless, why doing that? email me and I will explain why |
