What is the difference between task and skill?

I'm studying Human resource development.
I don't understand the difference between task and skill exactly.
They say task means activities; skill means behaviors.
What is the difference between task and skill?
Are there absolute differences between task and skill ?
or just relative differences?
I'm confused. help me!!!
Thanks in advance.

Skill is the ability to perform the task (job).

A task is an activity or job that must be performed.
A skill is the act of doing the activity or job. A person may be able to get a job done, but it may take him a long time and many extraneous behaviors to do it. A person with skill does not expend energy performing unnecessary behaviors; he knows what behaviors are needed and how to perform those behaviors. My father could paint a room in two or three hours that took me all day to do. He was skilled in painting and woodworking. I, on the other hand, could write a report in a half an hour that would take him several hours to do, and then he would ask me to read it.

That has me stumped. I want to know.
A task, like changing the oil on your car. Isn't a skill becuase?
Or a skill like cooking , isn't a task because?

A skill is something you do well. You practiced. You learned a skill. LIke typing.
A task is something that you do. LIke shopping for groceries.

Those are simple words that I thought everyone knew. A dictionary could have answered this question for you if you really don't know the difference. A task is a job that needs to be done. "Mr. Smith needs to complete the task of stacking all those boxes." Skill is someone's ability to do something. "It requires a great deal of skill to drive at high speeds through busy city streets." or "John is highly skilled as welding."

You could say, "It takes a great deal of skill to accomplish a difficult task."
