I always thought human resources was a fun job. Im going to be majoring in econ, should i minor in sociology? |
Major in Economics and Minoring in Sociology may increase my chances of landing a high human resources job? I like the job, it's just the pay is too small unless you become higher ranked. I am also thinking if it's just better to Major in Economics and Minor in something like accounting or Financing to becomes something boring. If you are going into HR, why major in econ? UGH....I thought HR was fun too, until I got into it. You definitely need to try it out first, interview some people, shawdow them, etc. You'll find that it's all about legal issues and as the HR department, you are covering the employer's butt - you are not there to help the employee. (You just have to make it seem that way.) If, after all that, you still want to get into HR, your best bet is to major in Human Resources Management. However, a minor in Econ or Soc can't possibly hurt. Good luck! |
