Any suggestions to break into the field of HR/corporation training?

Hi. I want to go from education of the middle school science type to education of the corporate type. Can anyone give me any suggestions how to break into corporate training or HR? I have gotten my resume all redone and have been getting myself familiar with Covery's "Seven Habits..." and Motorola's "Six Sigma". Anything else that might be recommended?

Already have a BS and an MA (both in science - no idea what I was thinking). Unfortunitally, doing anything pro-bono (even an internship) or paying MORE for a certificate is a bit out of my price range. Those pesky student loans don't pay themselves!! :D

An internship is a great way to get your foot in the door. Consider going back to school (I know, scary thought) to get a certificate in HR. You don't necessarily have to get another degree, but many schools offer HR programs where you take a few classes and get a certificate of completion when you're finished.

If an internship is part of the program, all the better. Or start volunteering. Many cities and county governments offer internships and volunteer opportunities in a variety of fields. Consider volunteering...it looks great on a resume, builds experience, allows for networking, etc.

You're best bet would be to get a degree in HR or Business Management. It's pretty much a requirement for most jobs I've seen (although I'm considering applying for a customer service manager position here 9 classes short of my bachelors degree, but I already have a lot of experience in various areas of HR).
