Pregnant and having a hard time with work? |
I am 8 weeks preg, high risk and have weekly doctors appointments. My co workers have complained about my time away. They often find little last minute things and ***** when I can't do them. I am an engineer with an all male company, I like my job but have found that the men don't get it. I work on average a 50 hour work week, so I am not slacking. Any tips? Am I protected by any laws? My boss is never ever in the office, we have no HR department. It is a VERY small company, and again I am the one and only female employee. Thanks in advance I posted this question a minute ago, with a HUGE typo (oops!), any advice is great. I keep having the guys suggest rescheduling my doc appointments, but my appointments are standing, same time every week. Or they suggest skipping one as I go next week anyway. You don't say what state you are in, but I would talk to your boss. If he's OK with your weekly doctor's appointments, he should speak to the others and make sure THEY understand the company's policy regarding your doctor's appointments. Google your state's labor laws as well so you know what the laws are before you speak with your boss. If he is not available, send him a notice in writing. Request a meeting time if necessary. Go to your nearest CAB, you are entitled to the time off for doctors and hospital appointments. if your boss do not have a problem with you leaving early forget those guys girl don't let that bother you or upset you chances are if they could leave early they would. ps don't do more then what your body can stand. |
