What does a hotel telephone communications operator do?

I wondered who stressful a telephone operators job is in a busy hotel?.

The main responsibility of a hotel telephone operator would be communication. You will be required to answer all phone calls and to act on it diligently. Transferring the call to the right person, jotting down messages and answering inquiries about the hotel and amenities.

The work would not be too stressful if you make yourself equipped with the necessary information about the hotel. Make sure you know everything about the hotel. Time management will also be a key. You act as the welcoming committee, customer service, help desk assistant and trustworthy staff.

im in the business. its just wat it says they answer all the phone calls that come in to the hotel.They answer questions about the hotel and its location and things about the area surrounding the hotel. Also they cancel reservations for people and transfer calls to different people working in the hotel. They also give info about rates and occupancy to incalling guests. and its not stressful at all there is always one or two more people answering phones with u.

It is like the switchboard. I knew a lady who did that. It wasn't bad once you learned the position.
