How do people get jobs?

I am 18 years old and I'm going to a community college as a full-time student. I am in terrible need of a job, and I have gone to my the college's career center for help. There isn't anymore they can do. I have been applying for jobs for 2 years now, in 3 different towns. I've applied for jobs at supermarkets, retail stores, coffee shops, hotels, resturants, pet shops, convenience stores, and at department stores. No one will hire me, and now I'm facing debt. I dress nice when I hand in applications, but still no one will hire me. I've done everything I can to get a job, but no matter what I do, no one will hire me. I need a job right now, before I get any more bills.

I'm getting bills now, but I can't pay them. All I can do is apply at places where I've already applied at. Needing money for bills and having little cash on me, what should I do?
I don't know what to do anymore. I just want to committ suicide.

I agree with all the other replies. You should look for a job like you are going to work. Get up and print up your resume pass them out in the surrounding businesses where you have appointments. Call your interviewers back...act like you are interested. Your problem maybe your scheduling (school) and no experience. Hold your head up, look your interviewer in the eye, and don't appear desperate. Sweetie suicide is not the answer toughen up this has happen to many of us and we survived.

You can apply for a job. Just find a place where their hiring. Or, if you want to just ask a company, or a place if their hiring. And apply for it.

After you have applied for a job, check back on it. Get the name of hiring manager when you apply. After a week , call the place and ask for the manager , by name. Tell him that you applied for a job and wanted to check on status. Getting hired is like selling yourself. Ask yourself, If you were a manger, would you hire yourself ? why or why not? make your self marketable. Looking for job should be a full time job. 8 hours a day. Good Luck Buddy.

I agree with one of the other postings. The main thing you need to do is check back about 5 business days after giving them your resume. Alot of getting a job is selling yourself. Walk in with your head up, if you meet with the manager shake there hand and introduce yourself. Maybe take another look at your resume and get some help making it look better. Best of luck and yes this should be a full time job until you land a job. Also, always apply in person don't do it over the internet.
