If you saw Mr. Smith walk through the lobby with a beautiful lady on his arm and then 15 minutes later a different woman came to the desk demanding to know his room number because she is Mrs. Smith, would you give her the room number? (The answer should be no, as hotel law in all 50 US states requires that hotels do not give out room numbers to anyone not registered in that room... not even to wives).
