Just what exactly is a night auditor for a hotel.? |
What do they do? Do you have to have some kind of experience or can you learn on the job? A night auditor is the person who takes care of the front desk of a hotel during the night. They usually work something like 11pm - 7am and deal with things like: checking in late guests, dealing with complaints during the night, and sometimes security. Usually a night auditor is also going to be running some reports during the night (paperwork) but nothing too stressful. This is a good job for someone who likes to work nights and can handle being alone on the job for the most part. They don't really need any experience, but retail exp isn't going to hurt. It is going to be minimum wage or more depending on the demand for work at that time period (sometimes it pays more because there isnt' anyone willing to work that late) You should apply. i think most people can learn the job it all depends on your education. a night auditor is the person who stays on the graveyard shifts and tallies the receipts for the different departments(gift shops, restaurant, bar, rooms) and turns the numbers in to accounting. they also handle some of the tip calculations for the restaurant staff(if applicable) they do other things too like check in late arrivals. You check people into the hotel the first half of the shift. Most night auditors work from 11pm to 7am and make about $9 an hour. You run the report about 3 or 4 am, get the Continental Breakfast ready, and begin checking people out. It's a pretty easy job. |
