Job Interview/ 6 mos pregnant? |
I finally got a call about a job and will be interviewing in the next couple of weeks. SO do I forwarn the company that I am pregnant or do I go to the interview and say nothing untill it is brought up to me? I could pass as a "plump" woman depending on what I wear and I know legally they can't deny me the job simply because I am pregnant BUT... I have to fly, rent a car and hotel room so this won't be cheap. I basiclly want to know if anyone has had a situation like this and it turned out good. since everyone usually asks questions I will post some answers here... *I am switching jobs because we are 1600 miles away from all of our family and would like to be closer. *insurance is already figured out so that is not a concern Go to the interview and tell them you would consider an abortion if you can get the corner office. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! Go to the interview, but make it clear that you are 6 months pregnant. Do not try to pass yourself off as plump. I think this is one of these tricky situations where you are forced to tell the truth, and they very well MAY deny you the job based on your pregnancy simply by hiring someone who is as qualified but available to start, and stay, right away. Tell the truth. Ask if it will cause an issue. Make sure that you play it off as something that will not significantly effect your work life. Good luck with the job! |
