Is embedded systems field really 'HOT' ? |
Is embedded systems field really 'HOT' ? Will there be boom in this field like IT? If so then in whaich particular areas? Do you see decrease in IT jobs? Can you please provide answer as well as material for reading regarding this? I deal in the embedded field on a daily basis. Hard to say specifically that it is "hot", but I will tell you that there is a shortage of people that are good at it. You require knowledge of hardware, how a CPU functions (including interrupts, DMA transfers, and timing considerations), assembly languages, real-time considerations, testing methodology, and require a strong debugging skillset. All of this, plus be a good programmer as well. Some find it exciting, some boring, it all depends on how you approach your work. Hard to call it a boom really, just a lot of possibilities. Not too much is being outsourced right now, but could change in future. I came across this link ww.emertxe.com/embeddedcareer_... they have described almost every query related to making a career in embedded systems and what exactly is to be taken care if looking for training in embedded systems. |
