Why do people get so upset about illegal immigration and not about all the IT jobs going to India? |
Now the U.S. has let its technology edge slip through the door, too.. Do you know how many jobs, that Americans would really want to do, have been lost to this shift? Yet we whine about immigration as if we really want to pick strawberries in the hot glaring sun... We are upset about that as well, you will just hear a bit less about it on this particular board. It does come up, though, and is all part of the same problem. We need to leverage our consumerism to protect our wages, rather than letting access to OUR purchasing power be negotiated away in so called 'free trade agreements' by big business interests who want higher profits at the cost of our lifestyle as workers. I get real upset about the IT Jobs going to India. In fact, I am paying a guy in India to do my IT work now, and I only pay him 1/5 as much as I make. I am thinking about taking on a 2nd job also and doing the same thing. My boss started to get suspicious, so I had my Indian employee make a few mistakes so the boss would think it was really me. Thank you L M for pointing that out. You're absolutely right, why isn't anyone talking about that? If you consider that many political "issues" are actually generated by those who stand to benefit from them, such as the issue you mention being fostered by corporate interests and public sentiment over the Middle East being fostered by Zionists, it may make more sense. We are constantly subjected to a barrage of what can only be called propaganda. The illegals pose a problem because of immigration laws. The corporations would prefer to have Americans working at McJob wages to maximize profits. IT represents a significant corporate expense that cannot be decreased by hiring unskilled labor, so those jobs are shipped to labor markets that cost less, and little or nothing is said about it by the people who feed us... er... 'information'. Yes, I know; this all sounds like a conspiracy theory. Then again, the reason the word 'conspiracy' was made was to describe something that actually exists. its because the TV doesent say its bad, seriously the wallstreet machine owns the US including the media/propoganda tool alot of messed up things 10000x's worse than that are going on we dont hear about for one, more jobs are lost to illegals, two- they are invading our country illegally, three i know alot of citizens that are legal that would pick those strawberries or what ever. four, all illegals bring with them is more crime than just the lawbreaking entry!!! five- illegals are a burden on our society and taxes are paying for their anchor babies, medical and welfare. maybe all these facts just slipped off your mind huh!!!!! I am not as upset about IT jobs going to India, because... 1. Not all illegal aliens pick strawberries, your favorite fruit. They are taking all non-skilled jobs in every industry. There is no point in acting ignorant to the millions of jobs that are out there that don't require a college education, and are filled by a surplus of illegal aliens. 2. Indians who have the IT jobs are in India doing the work.They are not in my country killing a dozen Americans a day, they are not shutting down hospitals, they are not in safe haven cities applying for welfare benefits, and those that do live in the U.S. are here legally, can speak English, and assimilate. 3. East Indians are not coming across the border, onto my property, vandalizing my property, and costing me thousands a year. 4. I am not an IT Professional, I am not directly affected by the outsourcing of those jobs, although as a rancher I am directly affected by illegal aliens (see #3). 5. I hope you are not an American, because Americans who support the illegal invasion are traitors to this country. 6. Why bother asking questions, when you only want to read a pro-illegal invasion answer? Eat strawberries instead, before the pickers are deported and those prices you worried about weeks ago go up. |
