I suddenly have no hot water in my kitchen (but plenty everywhere else).? |
It was cold and stormy last night, but no colder than it has been. The kitchen faucet is a one handle job. The cold works fine, but when you move it over to hot, nothing comes out. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Probably piping to that faucet is frozen up. Only use a hair dryer for defrost and be ready to close the main valve if you find out pipe is broken too. Piping to the faucet inside outside walls is susceptible to freeze. Keep kitchen warmer, or better insulate around the pipe. Do not get mad, this happens a lot.. call the elecriany da Could be an ice chunk in the line particularly if that line is on an outside wall.. or it could be crud in the faucet valve.. I'd start by taking the faucet apart and seeing if the cartridge is blocked and or if you get water out of it when its dissassembled (dont forget to turn off the supply valves under the sink first though.. then just open them a little and see if get anything.. A plumber might be a better choice. leave your sink base cabinets open so heated air can get in, especially on outside wall! |
