What is the best way to remove hot wax from a painted wall surface? |
I spilled a glass votive melting pot against a wall that was on top of my dining room hutch. It went against my wall which is wine colored. Is there a better way to remove the wax without damaging the wall and the paint job? place some newspaper against the wax, and set your iron to the lowest setting. The heat will transfer the wax to the newspaper, which can then be thrown away. Afterwards, use a very mild cleanser, such as extremely diluted dishwashing liquid, to eliminate any leftover residue. Good luck! try a cloth or towel and an Iron. I know it works for carpet best to leave it til its completely cooled and set and then peel it off. if there is a residue, heat it a bit with a hair dryer and use a tissue or something like that to patt it off. hope it helps. All you need to do is apply a warm heated hairdryer over the wax. As it melts off wipe it with a dampened wash cloth. DO NOT use an iron!! The heat will burn the wall paint. Modified 1 year ago Bag of ice and rock salt to freeze then remove now if it was something small you put into a freezer. But since your on the wall empty half the bag of ice put some rock salt in and mix. I remember when i was younger we would put rock salt in or ice chest to keep or beer cold and it would freeze the beer if we did not drink it fast so this is the only way i could think of to freeze it. Good Luck Modified 1 year ago |
