Hardly no heat in my '92 Grand Marques, heater hoses are getting hot, what could it be? |
I get warmer than outside air blowing through the vents but don't know if the Heater Core dropped and the air is blowing right by it or the heater core is plugged up with gunk. If it is the heater core, how much of a job is it to get to and what is the easiest way? make sure your heater is turned on.you know the lever that is red on one side and blue on the other.slide it all the way to red If the heater hoses are getting real hot then they might be collapsing, would not hurt to replace them . some people put a over sized springs inside to keep them stiff. thermostat could be stuck open therefore the water does not get real hot. You can buy a flush kit at a discount store and it is real easy to do. (flush out the cooling system). So with new heater hoses, a flushed system and a new thermostat (installed right side up) you should get lots of heat . Make sure when you flush the system that you have the heater on high so it flushes through the heater core . I know this isn't what you want to hear but , if you haven't gotten the recall yet on the manifold failure.... yours is failing... Your losing pressure because of the crack in the intake manifold. Have it pressuer tested as soon as possible, my went out at 90 k. I was in on the law suit (Chamberlin vs Ford) filed last December. But as my luck was going early this year I missed out on my claim. It cost my $ 800.00 dollars to get it fixed, the damm thing was made out of plastic...... Good Luck.... Been there ,payed that!!!! |
