Underground Air Temp - Vapor Extraction at one of my sites is yeilding air at 85 degrees F. Seems too hot? |
Usually, air pull out of the ground is a cool, constant 60 degrees F, whether it's winter or summer. This job site is nothing special, just in front of a strip mall, but my SVE wells are yeilding air at 85 degrees. The area is about an hour east of Oakland, in the Central Valley. There are no nearby underground utilities or steam pipes, no underground electrical, and the whole area is paved. Anyone seen this before? You are still near seismically (sp) active areas. Could easily be influenced by that. Vegatative deacy? Near Livermore???? Lots of nasty things dumped in the ground out that way. Could be the air is being heated inside the blower due to a malfuntion. Maybe the vanes or the shaft are starting to wear or get off balance creating heat. Have you cailibrated you temperature sensor? um, i belive you are in close proximtyy to a subduction zone. perhaps the earth is being heated by the asthenosphere. how deep is your hole? |
