How Much Hand Talking During A Job Interview Is Too Much?? |
Can you over do it with talking with your hands, such as shaping out objects as you talk about them during a job interview? How much is too much? Or should you at all? I'm sure if you just did it a little bit no one would notice, but if you are constantly moving your hands, that is very distracting and people won't focus on you. So, the best bet would be to NOT do it. I think some people just talk with their hands and that's no indicator whatsoever of their personality, ability or motivation. I think it's largely a cultural/environmental thing. My mom talks with her hands, even when she's on the phone with someone! I catch myself doing it a lot! I'm sure I've done it at job interviews, because I know it's something I'm doing all the time. I've never been told by someone that my gesticulation was distracting. Just don't make obscene gestures with your hands and you should be fine? |
