Hand problem at work? |
3 years ago i got hurt at work and had to go to the Emergency room. To be more specific..i was holding an american bull dog to get his nails done and he (with a muzzle on) slammed my hand into the wall and just about broke my thumb. The Docter said that it looked like it got ripped out of place, twisted around and slammed back in.. OUCH.. i had a cast for a while ...ANYWAY Its still bothers me. I no longer work there. But i am still a groomer and it interferes with my job everyday because i cant grasp anythin tight with that hand....Like hold a paw to clip the nails... Is there anything i should or can do about it with the other place i worked? Isnt their fault? would they still be responsible for any more medical bill to get it fixed... PLEASE HELP Your medical bills and lost time at work should have been covered under your former employer's Workmans Compensation Insurance. So much time has passed since you had the injury, you may not still be able to file a claim--- most states limit how long you have to file. Check with your local Department of Employment Services in your state/city. As far as your current pain/problems working... unfortunately so much time has passed that you will probably not be able to collect anything other than the original medical bills/emergency room, assuming you can even get those. An insurance company will want you to PROVE that you have not had any other injury to your hand that could be causing the pain and it is very hard to prove something did NOT happen; they'll say you might have hurt yourself but not bad enough to go to the hospital, and since your injury may have come from something other than working at your old job, they won't pay. For all they know, you did it playing tennis. yezs there is but its not the kind of info you would post here just do some serious research |
