Working a week in hand?

If i get a job which pays monthly, would i have to work a month in hand first, before i get paid the following month,or is it still just a week in hand i'd have to work? Or does it depend on different employers? I know i sound thick, but im just curious.

depends on the employer. best thing is to speak to a colleague on your first day, that way you dont sound money-mad and know what to expect!

Unless you have a very understanding boss, you will be paid at the end of your first working month.

Depends on employer ... But a lot of people who work in hand it would mean that if you were to start work on Feb 1st (for e.g) then you wouldn't get your first pay cheque till the end of March
