What kind of jobs do Business Management majors look for after they graduate?

Or do most of them just go to Graduate School?

I graduated with a degree in business administration with a specialization in management. With a business degree, you can practically work in any field that needs administration support (in human resources, financing, accounting, analyzing programs/projects, etc.).

For instance, you could even apply for a federal government internship at http://www.opm.gov/, which starts at $35,000 annual salary, but could increase to $75,000 in only 5 years. I have many friends who applied and were selected for internship and are now earning $85,000 before they even reach the age of 30. In my case, I've received 4 promotions since I was hired by the Department of Defense four years ago. If you are motivated, the government offers higher levels of management with their Senior Executive Service (SES). Salaries range from $140,000 to $192,000 depending on the level. More importantly, federal government agencies are also great with tuition assistance. My current employer pays 100% of my tuition for my Master of Business Administration (specialization in Finance & Accounting) degree worth $26,000. Additionally, after graduate school, I'm looking towards Six Sigma certifications. Lastly, I'm not required to work on nights, weekends and holidays, which gives me plenty of free time to study or simply, enjoy my life.

Of course, the federal government (civil service) is not the only game in town. There are thousands of small/big private organizations that you could apply for positions and perhaps, be the next CEO in line. Moreover, if you have the drive and committment, you can be an entrepreneur and start your own business.

In regards to graduate business school, universities requires that you possess at least 5 years of full-time job experience. Therefore, many graduate candidates are not able to apply until the age of 27-28. An MBA is not a necessity unless your desire is to attain the levels of management -- then a graduate degree is absolutely imperative.

Good luck to your career!
