I am a graduate of fine art painting, bored of doing humdrum jobs....how?

could I get myself an agent please?

Not really. Keep looking for work just like I am.

Sadly, I thought that this was the most boring, flippant answer imaginable! I thought that I had already voted the best.... never mind I know which one was appreciated and I think that he does too. Report It

In my own opinion Jose gave the best answer by far.....
Thank you Jose

Why not be more challenging as a person and be your OWN BOSS.

1.Sell your work
2.You'll get 100% of the amount you earn from selling your work and by targeting the right people.
3.Set up blog to advertise/ promote what you do.
4. Or even your own website to sell your stuff.

AND you can stick to getting an agent AS WELL.

God Bless.

Hi,

A GOOD Art agent can be a good thing. But a BAD art agent sure is a bad thing.
You must understand that an art agent objective is to make money and being unknown to the market you'll have some difficulty finding one top art agent. But you sure can find one who efforts and is a HONEST one.
As stated before get a website if you don't have one.
Open a free gallery at Saatchi online gallery and Mosaicglobe.
The Wetcanvas website has a business forum with lots of great threads and awsome participants/artists.
Good luck !

Kind regards,

Jos茅

You could get one. But it would be a huge mistake. No-one uses agents except amateurs who want to get ripped off, and people so famous and in demand that they don't have time to attend to their own business.

I've had offers from a number of agents, but I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Instead apply yourself to your work, find your own direction and stick to it, then you'll get there.
