How and where can i get a Graduate Engineering job?

I am getting bad news all the time. My big disadvantage is no experience and been a graduate since 2001. How can I improve my chances!?

Sorry to hear that. I have just the opposite problem. I have a 18 year technician back ground with no degree. I work in manufacturing engineering as a "specialist". I solve more problems than some of the engineers and I get paid 25% less than them. I am in college now to get the degree.

Some times you have to work into a position. I worked for Nokia from 1996-2006. In 1998 I got a position in engineering. Got laid off in 2006. I started at a new company as a technician, after six months got promoted to my current position in engineering. Most newly created jobs in companies are filled internally. It is vey hard to compete against a proven employee when you are on the outside of the company. Try getting a job in a company that creates jobs like you want. That will broaden your experience in that field and will help you understand and solve problems better. Most engineers hired in to Japanese companies have to work a year in a non-engineering position to gain that type of experience.

If you couldn't get a job with a graduate degree since 2001 there is something very wrong with you. Did you ever go for interviews???? There are tons of jobs out there. I have a degree and have NEVER been unemployed since I left school.
