Anyone know if when applying for a job, they really verify if you are a high school graduate?

My hubby is looking for a part time job but he didnt graduate high school or got a GED but he does have a lot of experience because he has a full time job that he got when he was in high school and now he is 24 years old and still working there.

Tell your husband to get his GED! Some jobs may hire him based on his experience but his experience will never measure up to someone who has a degree. It is hard enough these days to get a job without a AA, BA, or Masters let alone a high school diploma. These company's are hiring people with DEGREES over EXPERIENCE.

I had a supervisor who was literally dumb to management or office work in general, but she had a degree so she got the position. Her subordinates ended up teaching her how to do everything from sharpen a pencil, to say her name ha, ha, ha! :)

Well the point here is they CAN check to see if you graduated and it would be worse for him to be caught in a lie. His best bet would be to get his GED and go from there.

Since you're posting this in health care, the health care industry pretty much runs a full background check of everything. Your education, as well as full local, state, and federal arrests and convictions. The health care profession is actually tougher to get into than the marines, in part because of security and privacy issues like hipaa.

Most companies always do a full background check nowadays because the information is very easily available over the computer. If they don't do it then they just hire a third party to do research on the applicant.

I know many jobs that don't really check into it..I had a friend who started a job and he told them his high school diploma was up north with his mom and they asked a few times and then left him alone..It all depends..If they haven't asked him yet they probably wont
