Is there any good jobs for civil engineering graduates?

i am graduating with 4.0 gpa probably next semester in masters degree in civil engineering. how is the chance of getting jobs here in usa after my graduation?

i am not a us citizen but i m graduating from us university

If you are U.S. citizen then you can probably easily get a job. But that depends on where in the U.S. you want to work. The Southeast and Southwest are in need of Civil Engineers while the Northeast, Midwest and the Northwest are not in need of Civil Engineers.

If you are not a U.S. citizen then you will probably not get a job in the U.S. There are too many U.S. Civil Engineering graduates in the U.S. for any company to have to hire a non-U.S. citizen unless they have international offices.

I'm not in the US, but I'll tell you what: Your future is very bright, coz you got the power of life. With patience, you'll get to the highest level of Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of human needs: Self actualisation. Congratulations!!!

The US Department of Labor states that Civil Engineers are expected to see average employment growth through 2014. Spurred by general population growth and an increased emphasis on infrastructure security, more civil engineers will be needed to design and construct safe and higher capacity transportation, water supply, and pollution control systems, as well as large buildings and building complexes. They also will be needed to repair or replace existing roads, bridges, and other public structures. Because construction and related industries鈥攊ncluding those providing design services鈥攅mploy many civil engineers, employment opportunities will vary by geographic area and may decrease during economic slowdowns, when construction often is curtailed.

Engineers with bachelor's degrees make at least $43,000 right out of college in the US. Here's what the US Department of Labor estimates are for starting wages for Civil Engineers:
BS: $43,679 Masters: $48,050 Ph.D: $59,625

Engineering degrees are the best ones to get in this economy, other than a degree in a medical profession.

Good luck!
