Bachelor's in psychology: what's next? go to graduate school or get a job? |
i'm graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology this spring. i want to go to graduate school, but my GPA is low and i didn't do well on the GRE. i hear that it's almost impossible to find a decent job with just a bachelor's in psychology, but if i can't get accepted into graduate school, what choice do i have? ...help!!!! If you really want to get into graduate school, get a job that is somewhat related to your degree or career aspirations. It's not going to be anything exciting, but it's a start. Then, study better to take your GRE again within the next couple of years. Then reapply to graduate schools with your work experience and better GRE score. You may also want to consider going into Occupational Therapy or some other graduate program that isn't necessarily psychology, but your psychology degree will be useful. Both. You can only do so much with your BA in psychology you could be a school counselor or a probation officer. I have heard that some graduate programs want some real world experience, you might find out and you won't be the first to find out that the thing you have your bachelors in is not what you make your life's career. |
