I have a Bachelors degree in Management. But the only jobs I keep getting is Admin or Secretary. PLEASE HELP! |
I am educated, smart, highly motivated then why is it that I can't GET a job besides admin jobs. I graduated 3 years ago and after I graduated I've had 3 jobs..each of them ADMIN jobs which I kept for 1 year each. I had to accept those jobs because I needed the money and had to pay the bills, college loans, etc so I could not NOT accept the jobs. But I am tired of being at somone's back & call. I didn't go to School for ALL these years to become someone's secretary to order their lunch or pick up theirs calls. I am at a complete loss right now! What should I do? Please help me. I can't afford to go back to school again already! I still haven't finished paying off my loans from undergrad. Let me be honest. It is by no means meant to be offensive or insulting but.... Now that you've started doing admin work, it will be hard to jump to a new employer as anything other than an admin. It'll be far easier to find another admin job, and then get promoted into something else. Update your resume, and get it out there again. Try some new places that you didn't visit before. Be willing to start small and build your reputation. Be willing to work your way up. See if there's an opening in a small office, such as the local school system. If you keep taking jobs because of the salary, then they're going to keep falling short in other areas. Before you jump ship again, look really hard and target jobs you actually think you'd enjoy. Consider public sector jobs, which may pay a little less, but can offer more opportunity to do meaningful work. Ask about room for advancement and education reimbursement or whatever else is important to you in your job interviews. If you don't like the answers, keep looking. Successful companies don't hire people with zero experience and make them managers. It took me five years in sales before I was promoted to management. |
