You still have to get some training and a years experience, but you can make upwards of $70,000 a year, its hard, frustrating work, with long hours and time spent away from home,but it pays well as long as its union. Heavy Equipment Operator Lots of jobs pay 55k or more without college, but most require experience, and all require hard work. You can make 55k in a sales job that pays commissions - if your good at sales. If you like to work with your hands, then you can make good money welding. With some computer skills you can learn CAD and work in drafting/design and make big money. You can get a job right away because it normally isn't a job people keep for long. It is a high pressure job and a lot of people get sick of it after a while but, if you are a people person then you can make $55,000 easy. Being a plumber or electrician, carpenter takes time. You have to go to school for that first, especially if you want to be in a union. The school for becoming a plumber etc. usually takes about a year then you have to become an apprentice for about 5 years then you become a journeymen and that is were you make good money. But, you can't just start being a plumber without having gone to a technical school. Really your best bet is to be a Car Salesman. Plenty of those jobs out there, sometime they even give you a signing bonus. Just look in your local newspaper and you will find dozens of listings. Ok, I hope this helps and good luck. Try realestate, stockbrokercar salesman, litigation, sales, or going for a craftwork. Either become an administrative assistant. It also helps if you move into a bigger city, like New York City. If anything, start your own business. Don;t forget to go to temp agencies, they'll help you out alot.
