Can my wife have a good job if i'm traveling with the Army?

I'm in the Army and my fianc茅 just graduated college with an international business degree. I鈥檓 telling her try to get a GS job with the Army. Have you ever heard of a spouse moving with her husband keeping her GS grade and job? How easy are the transfers and will the Army work with us? Is it possible for her to build a career if she's married to me?

I work for AAFES and while I have a short time sometimes finding work I always end up at my same rate and grade because AAFES has a program allowing me to do just that. I feel confident that she will have a excellent rewarding job!

Wal Mart hires in every town in the country...accepts transfers too..get her in now,by the time you retire she will be an asst mgr and can support you...50,000 a yr goes along nicley with a pension

she'll keep her gs status as long as wherever you're moving to has a position for her... it's the best way to go, because some military communities have very poor job opportunities...

Absolutely, with a military i.d. card she can get a gs job or work for aafes no matter where you are stationed. ask your recruiter about information on the career center and programs she can look into. she'll come out of the military with the experience and knowledge that might get her a better job than you. haha. Gs jobs transfer to different bases just like you do.

She can search for jobs at http://www.military.com/spouse. Each base should have a person that will help her find a job.

Yes, it is possible. There are programs that assists spouse employments.
