Moving to and working in Guernsey?

I've seen a graduate scheme I'm intersted in for Specsavers but its in Guernsey. If I got the job would I encounter problems with moving there and also would my boyfriend be able to move there with me?

Housing in Guernsey is very expensive. As you are not from Guernsey, you would have to rent 'non local' accomodation. However, Specsavers should give you help with finding accomodation and helping you get a 'Licence to live' and a 'Right to work'. Guernsey has 2 types of accomodation. People who are born in Guernsey or who have family in Guernsey are classed as 'Locals'. 'Outsiders' pay more to live there. You should speak to Specsavers and find out if your boyfriend can move there with you. Also, find out if they will organize the paperwork for you or whether you will have to do it yourself. It can be quite a difficult process! If you are offered a job with them, they should sort out all the paperwork you need to work there. Guernsey is a beautiful island with lots to do and see. The standard of living is very good and when you want to get off 'the rock', Jersey is only 20 minutes away and France is only an hour away on the ferry. I lived there for 6 years and loved the way of life. A mixture of French and British culture. Wishing you all the best.
Good luck!!

It's almost impossible to move to Guernsey, unless you have literally millions of 拢 to invest. I can't move there and I'm a UK passport holder !!

At best you might get a short term rental for someway to stay but it's expensive.
