Do those seeking a BS in Early Childhood Education have trouble finding jobs in SC when they graduate? |
I was just wondering about that. Where is your favorite place to teach? What schools are considered good and why? Where would be a good place for me to start out? The best place to start out is this website: http://www.myscschools.com/ You might also want to try working for a HeadStart program, but, the benefits aren't nearly as good as they would be teaching for the state. If I were planning a career with the SC school system, I'd want to teach somewhere close to the beach!! Teaching is only a GIANT part of your life!! You will still have a little time for recreation. What better way to relax than on the sandy shores?!?! When I was first starting out, I went to the Dean's office at the College of Education. He told me that he had a stack of letters from districts looking to hire new graduates. He was able to recommend one. Ask at your college of education and at your college's job placement program. A good place for you to start would be anywhere you feel comfortable. If the salary, environment, administration, etc. at the school appeal to you, it may be a good place to start. You should not have a problem finding teaching work in SC. THey are always in need of teachers, but arent willing to pay too much. No, teachers are currently in high demand. When I graduated from college (many years ago) my first teaching position was at a high school in Columbia, SC. |
