What are some high paying jobs for a high school graduate???? Most high school grads start with the basics - waitressing (if you do it in a place with a bar you could eventually be graduated to bar tender which is where the money is in most restaurants), phone/retail sales, and temp work. Construction or landscape work can help tone a young man's upper body with all the heavy lifting - but I don't know how well they pay. I have only a high school diploma and I did phone sales (they hire anyone who seems competent and if you have a talent for it, it can pay quite well) then I went to temp work (where I learned a lot of my basic computer and people skills). I then took a job as a general desktop publisher - once they downsized me I started working for myself as a graphic designer when I was around 28 and I have never looked back. I am 39 today and work from home with my husband (a programmer) where we homeschool our kids. I am so glad that I didn't waste the money and 4+ years in college. Peace! I don't know of any. Heavy equipment operator pays good but you need training for that. There aren't any, that's why so many people go to college. You should think about doing the same. |
