I graduate from college in May of 07. When should I start applying for jobs? The sooner you start looking, the better. I'd keep my eyes open and check some things out, but at least around January is definitely the time to get serious and start getting more active in a job search. Check out any university job fairs or career days, check your local paper, search the internet (Monster and the like), talk to people you know/network, etc. Try to get an idea of what's out there and what you're looking for and get your resume out there. Start applying and getting interviews early, because even if you don't get the job, you get the experience that comes with each time you are interviewed, and can become more confident with each time you go for an interview. And remember, you don't have to take a position immediately just because it's offered to you. There are always options, and give yourself a little time to think before making any big decisions. Above all else, remember that you're still young and have a whole life ahead of you, and your chosen career path of right now may not be the same 20, 10, or even 5 years from now. Sometimes the only way to learn is to do, and sometimes you'll find that you can change your mind about what you want to do. Finding yourself, and your niche, can take a long time. Anyway - look in a local (where you live) newspapers and there must be advertisements for some jobs its already late... u can even apply for jobs during ur final semester. be fast in this running world... update ur resumes n apply to all the companies u c... u wil get a good job surely. at first u may get only a small job. but it wil fetch u a experience certificate. so dont neglect any offerings... |
