I.T. jobs??? Should I stick with it?

I graduated last December from the Univ. of South Carolina with a B.S. in Technology Support & Training Management and have yet to get a job with my degree. Im beginning to feel like that whole time in college was a waste! Everytime I go on interviews its like I dont have enough experience for the job seems like. I do in fact have a job but its almost something a high school graduate can do.

Im in the process of buying some A+ Certification material to increase my chances of finding something. Im also thinking about taking grad classes for a M.A. in Information Technology Management.

Does it sound like I'm on the right route? I tell you if i knew it would have been this hard finding a job when I graduated I would have majored in something completely different. If anybody was in the same situation let me know what helped you out and got you started?

Thanks

Hi There... I wouldn't waste a second of time / money on an A+ Certification. Employeers really could care less about anything from CompTIA. Expecially A+... If you wanted to get a job at Best Buy working on computers - then get your A+. Anything else and its a monumental waste of time.

I would recommend getting MCSE from Microsoft - it truely is the only thing that employeers look at (or know anything about).
getting some basic certs should help you land a entry level job, if you dont want to do that, then try find a consulting job that is willing to take anyone with no experience, but dont expect high pay.
personal experience.
You sound like you're not sold on the I.T. route yourself, since you say you would have majored in something completely different had you known finding an I.T. job would be difficult.

What is it that you really would love to do? That is the path you should take! Life is too short for regrets. Best Wishes!
The market for IT jobs is rediculously hot right now. There is a very large shortage of IT professionals, and most companies can't even hire as many as they need. If you are having problems finding a job, then you need to expand your search criteria. That should not be happening. Get a good entry-level position now, and pick up certs later if you want. A cert with no experience is pointless.
