Who else knows a graduate or skilled person doing a menial job? |
Because there arent enough well paid ones to go round? So why do Americans and right wingers persistently claim that if you "get educated and work hard" you'll be fine financially? Try telling that to the 1000s of skilled people and graduates working in call centres, resturants and MaccyD's in the UK! Beleive me none of them want to be there. And yes there are some great jobs out there - but NOT ENOUGH TO GO ROUND!! Set up your own business? Yeah and for every "self made millionaire" how many self-employed end up bankrupt and destitute? Or the qualified plumbers who can't get work because Polish plumbers are cheaper. Or the trained mechanic who can't get work because Polish mechs are cheaper? As for "everyone in America works for what they have" oh yeah. What about Paris Hilton and her mates - what did she ever do to earn her fortune other than squeeze herself out of Mrs Hilton's vagina? You people need a dose of reality! My older brother, but that is because this country right now, is not going with his major, he might have to move to Europe, for his degree, but he is going to grad. school, so who knows? I know of someone who qualified as a nurse and can't get a job so is working as a labourer on a building site! Have you seen exactly what the military is paid???? Jesus, I assume you are still talking about Kerry dumb *** comment a week ago. But seriously, look at the military, (ALOT of whom are HIGHLY educated) and see how much we actually get paid for what we do. Trust me, we do a little more than you do at an average job, and get seriously underpaid. USAF 1993-Present My ex-girlfriend was an graduate and is a cleaner in pub. I'am a Machinist,CNC Programmer, but because of Rhem. Arthritis, I work part time as a Janitor. I depend on Veterans healthcare. But the cuts made by Bush, I can only see my Doctor once a year. I go to another Doctor for predisone, but its killing me slowly. I can't get my social security, that Bush says is my money. He is using it to buy new Iraq police cars, and give the people free medical care. No, you need a dose of reality. Getting a degree does not mean you automatically get a high-paying job. There are still dues to pay, but eventually it will pay off in higher level jobs with larger salaries. You just have no patience and want it all NOW. And who said "everyone in America works for what they have"? There are exceptions to every rule, Paris being a prime example. |
