Can a Human Geography degree get me a decent job after I graduate? |
Can a Human Geography degree get me a decent job after I graduate? I'm sure you know, if you've dabbled into it, that human geography encompasses so so much.. from land-use /mall design, to planning, statistics, gov. imm/emigration, research, advising etc... I used to argue with my old Prof. that human geography was simply spread to wide since it deeply involves many other sciences like anthropology, psychology, and many more hard sciences. Therefore, you should have a fairly good chance of finding a job involved with other fields, especially in research. Maybe, if you like teaching... or if you are lucky... However if you do really love it, go for it... maybe you would make a little less money than with, say, Business management. But think of the time investment as well. It is not the same to spend 8 hrs a day for maybe, what? 30 yrs doing something you hate than it is to spend the same time doing something you actually like... And that is PRICELESS (ha ha)... |
