I had been the vice president of my family's company that designed and manufactured SCADA and telemetry systems for water and waste water systems. There are several fields where you can apply your knowledge: Manufacturing - Medium to large manufacturing companies will want you because you will be designing their process control systems. Ideal countries to seek employment are the more industrialized nations that rely more on automated manufacturing to compete with cheap labor from third world countries. Oil and Gas - Processs control systems in this industry are less complex than those found in manufacturing facilities, but are more important to maintain optimum distribution of the product. The place to be is in the Middle East for these job opportunities. Public Utilities - Industrialized nations are contunially modernizing their utility operations by introducing and advancing their automation systems. Usually, such engineering is performed by engineering firms specializing in process control and SCADA systems. The U.S. has many large engineering firms that design such systems for clients globally.
