Which military branch would be best for government jobs??

i wanna be better than a cop.. like swat or something like that up there... so any suggestions

Any of them.

BTW - in order to try out for a special unit like a SWAT team you have to have years of experience as a 'regular' cop.

All government jobs pay the same based on your classification and length of employment, regardless of the branch of service.

Go Army EOD
Explosive Ordnance Disposal
Basically the bomb squad, do this for a few years, get out and you will get hired with any bomb squad you want.
I am an Army Recruiter now, but before this I was the supply sergeant for an EOD Unit. Went to Iraq and Afghanistan with them . Best Job in the Army, and a nice cash bonus right now

It depends on your job in your service. Some jobs make it easier to get a job after leaving the military.

If you want to be better, get a job, a decent one. A job creating products and services that the market wants.
What you're looking for is a job where others produce for you. At least look for one where you give something back. Road construction for example.

Two words for ya....

"Technical Rates"

Go into the Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard and apply for a technical rate working with maintenance, engines, electricity or any of the technical rates and you will set yourself up for a career in industry when you get out.

I've been an electrician for 35 years having learned in the Navy and serving on nuclear submarines in the 1970's. I read in the trade journals every day about the drain of technical rates and a future lack of "maintenance" people.

We just hired a kid to be an electrician at our plant making $21.00/hour. Know any cops that make that?

g-day!

Well, by your question, I'm assuming that you want to do some sort of HSLD job. There are so many possibilities, so many completely awesome jobs. You could go AF and do combat control, pararescue, TACP, Combat weather, or any of many other awesome jobs. In the Army, you could be a Ranger, or go SF. Navy, you could be a Seal or SWCC. The possibilities are endless!

You should talk to your local recruiter, and get some input from him. Good luck, all of these jobs are INCREDIBLY hard to get.
