Will the government go after these unstable nut jobs that buy guns?

Cho Seung-Hui, the Columbine guys, that mall killer in Tacoma, Robert Hawkins...seriously, these guys are all mentally unstable. They're not like the average person you know. They are BORN like that. If the government would screen people who buy guns, this crap would stop. Usually they're paranoid, irrationally violent and known to be loony by their peers.

People talk about Hawkins losing his job...that's not why he did that! He's C-R-A-Z-Y. Most of these people are schizos...like I said, screening will stop these people before they start!

Well lets look at things rationally,if the state of Virginia had been doing it's job the Virginia Tech shooter would have never gotten a gun. He already had issues in his history that should have prevented him from buying a gun,but because of the incompetence of the state not getting some of his mental issues on the record,he was able to purchase guns. Not to mention the fact that he already had incidents in his past for stalking, which also would have kept him from purchasing a gun if the girls had pressed charges, but they didn't want to "ruin his life",that worked out well didn't it.

And as I understand it the guy in Nebraska stole the gun he used, and also had a long history of mental health issues. So apparently someone wasn't doing their job there either. But this whole "gun nut" issue is a red herring, they are just plain nuts. Anyone who thinks just owning certain guns makes someone a killer knows nothing about the actual statistics.

I also have to wonder how many licensed to carry concealed in Nebraska had left their pistols in their cars because of the malls no weapons policy.Of course it would seem he didn't follow that policy.

Not as long as the NRA donates millions of dollars to political campaigns.

The presentage of (crazies) as you put it is real low when you think about how many people live here. If you take away the guns how do we protect ourselfs from the gov? That is why they wrote the bill of rights and constitution.

These people did not acquire those weapons legally.......Do your own research.

Every gun I own is registered in my name, and a background check was made.

I dare you to try and take them from me.

it's too late for you people to have gun control, you have so many guns on the street.i know iv'e heard guns don't kill people do,i have said if i leave a weapon leaning against the wall for years it will not shoot anyone until someone picks it up and someone will.there might be an argument with a neighbor,a bit of grog,i'll show him,out comes the rifle you may not intend to shoot but he tries to take it from you and you shoot out of fear that he might take it off you and use it on you,if the rifle was not there it might just be a punch.we have very strict laws in australia,if you live in the city its nearly impossible to get a rifle and im only talking about a .22,you have to have letters from farmers saying you can shoot on their property, the guns must be locked up and they check. You wont read in the paper where someone here walked through a mall with a boomerang killing people and then turned it on himself.

When and if we ever invent a foolproof device that can detect intent and predict if and when an individual will be able to overcome the rage/urge/desire to kill another then maybe your idea will be reviewed. How can "the government" fix /deny /incarcerate /who you might think are crazies when

NOTE: more people die in auto accidents caused by distracted, upset, crazies, druggies, drinkers, illegals etc than the #s of deaths attributed to military deaths in Iraq, death by random gun toting crazies, bar fights, gang activities,

The decision to do "x" is based on an individuals choice or perceived need. No one especially the government can control all the variables that effect people...
besides the government cant even produce and fund an annual budget on time...so you what want them trying to decide whether YOU should be authorized/denied or forced into therapy/treatment simply because they go a "new" study or a lucrative donor who wants "x' to be "controlled in a certain way? I would rather see the government clean out all the gangs, drug dealers, child predators, rapists, identity theives, etc,. Gun owners for the most part tend to have a lower incident/crime rate.... fear of what could be is destructive and produces anger/resentment and for some a decision that produces great harm or fatalities.
