Can an Asian-American man get a DC government job?

It is not my intention to sound racially or gender biased, but how realistic is it for an Asian-American man to get a job and successfully maintain a job with the District of Columbia government? I don't mean the kind of jobs that seeks Asian applicants for need of bilingual employees for temporary appointment.
There's no need to mention the Mayor's new appointee to head the DC schools. While it may be beneficial for Asian-American community at large to have a Korean-American woman (not minding who she's tied the knots with) to head DC schools, Asian-American men and Asian-American women have different status and different life in America.
Should an Asian-American man best be looking elsewhere simply because DC is predominantly African-American or is it hard to say?

Hard to say. While I agree with you on some points, I think that if the guy is qualified, his ethnic heritage really shouldn't and won't matter. It would also depend on what kind of job he's interested in.

I would tell you to apply and pursue that if you want to work in the DC city government. Keep your application on file with them and continue to check back for openings. Persistence is the best method. I don't think that your race will play a factor if your previous work experience, education and salary requirements match what they are seeking for the job.
