No, they have nothing to do with our politics, the Queen has no political power in our country. All she does is open Parliament every year and reads a speech about what she wants debated over the year (which is actually written by the party in power). Apparantly, if we want to go to war, she has to be asked because the armed forces belong to her and she decides if they go to war, but I think this is just a formality. Also, she has to ask the winner of an election if he or she wants to be Prime Minister, again this is a formality. Otherwise the royals do lots of diplomatic and charity work. Hope that helped!
