What counts as a "statement of earnings" for a federal government job? |
I've been selected for a federal government job, and have to prove my current earnings. Two problems with that. 1. My current employer has screwed up my paycheck the last few pays, so it looks like I make less than I do. 2. A good portion (10%) of my earnings is a guaranteed end-of-year bonus - which I haven't received yet. Clearly, I don't want to take a pay cut if I accept this job. Will a letter signed by my current employer work to prove my current income? Thanks! A Letter from your current employer will solve your problems !! Sure. You may have a bit of explaining to do, but a letter from your current employer would be acceptable. Preferable, in absence of your other information, would be your most recent tax return, and if it does not cover what you are currently doing, you probably will need the letter from your current employer. You should write it yourself and ask him/her to sign it. |
