Should the government determine the pay rate of different jobs/careers?

Like for example...
Dctors, Firemen, Secretaries, Singers, Vets, Senators, Pilots, Plummers, Evangelists, Bankers, Actors, Athletes, Advetisers, Waitresses, Tow Truck Drivers,Pastors, Babysitters, Auto manufacturers, Real Estate Agents, etc.

Absolutely! Here are some other things I would also like the government to control since I am too dumb to make decisions for myself.

1. what I can eat for dinner
2. what time to go to bed.
3. what color car I can drive
4. where i should go to church
5. where I receive my medical care
6. where I should live

Maybe they could also determine not just my salary but also what job I should have. I am currently working as a salesman but maybe they make me be a bikini inspector.

No. Absolutely not.

No, last I checked we had a free market not communism.

In America? No.

never

it is bad enough that unions try to so determine pay.

any bureaucracy always makes bad decisions -- that's because civil serviants are always too far away for the action and too slow to decide.

if you had government deciding the pay rates, what you'd inevitably get is some areas with too few people because the rates are too low and others with too many (and some therefore unemployed) because the rates are too high.

ugh

No Way! That is the wonderful thing about this country. If you work hard and prove yourself in a particular occupation you can make the money that you deserve. The government needs to get control of themselves and the national financial situation. Leave us alone!

Absolutely not. They are trying to take away your freedom already at every opportunity they can come up with. This is another one.

no because we all should be paid about the same i say becuz the government doesnt know what we been through in order 2 get their, they dont know how we felt about that particular situatuion
