Any Phil government employees out there with knowledge on how jobs are ranked in the system?

I'd like to know if a staff assistant III is higher than a staff assitant II or I? Is it the higher the number, the higher the position?

the highest rank would be IV. i would also like to add that even if two people have the same rank they might get different salary. the computation for salary is a bit complicated. many factors are considered such as years in service.

for instance employee X and Y are both accountant II. employee x have been working in the government for 5 years and gets a consistent rating of VS (very satisfactory) in his/her performance while employee Y have been working for 1 year. employee X will get 2,000 more than employee Y.

now i just made the amount but that's pretty much how it works. =)

It's not just in the Philippines but the ranking systems are the almost the same and generalized all over the world.. The position is considered higher as the numbers go up so assistant III is higher than assistant II... IV is the highest...

The plantilla positions for gov't offices in the Philippines is governed by the Civil Service Commission. And to the best of the knowledge, a Staff Assistant I is higher than Staff Assist. II and so on. In other words, No. 1 is exactly that - it's the highest position!
