Jobs are lost. Housing tumbles. Now the government says that people have to spend to prevent depression?

What kind of cruel sadistic joke is being played?

I didn't realize jobs were down. Housing is down. That is bad. Banks sold peoples mortgages to people with money to invest all over the world. Some of the investors were actually taking the risk of purchasing bad debt. in fact that is what happened. So now you have disgruntled investors who are a little sketchy about reinvesting in our economy. And don't want to spend any money. That's what hurts jobs. But jobs are really not down right now.

Yeah, really. It's depressing. It also frustrates me that people would overextend themselves on purchasing properties that they cannot afford and now we all take a hit for that. I blame the banks for loaning these people money, but more the people for not getting it that they were so close to foreclosure.

The concept of Globalization lost sight of the fact that each country or continent has distinct economic features and ignored them. This has resulted in an imbalanced growth, total lack of job security and unscrupulous employers indiscriminately hire and fire employees.

You haven't had it so good, you get three square meals per day , jobs are there if you really want to work .and as for those on welfare , well most of them are working on the side ,and are the first to complain if somebody dobs them in.
What do you no about hard times, there are still a lot of people who remember having to work 18 hours a week just to put food on the table.

As I remember asking what was for lunch and my Mother said there is still some bread and dripping,.to those who don't know what Dripping is it's fat off the meat.

Most of the children today get to year twelve.

the only people that are doing it hard is old age pensioner as the pensions haven't kept up with the inflation.
If you are in Australia , housing has increased in value all over Australia and for a young person starting out it will be hard to own a house.
you say people have to spend how do you think that any country can serve, money makes money.
In Australia we have had 10 years pf good Government, if it changers this year all of those that have complained will know how bad it can get under a bad Government.
Stop complaining unless your in darfour or a similar place.
