How hard is that to work for government?

I am trying to get a government job or work for organizations such as FBI or State Department. But i was wondering how hard is that to get a position in places like that and how hard is that to actually work there? Is there a lot of preassure and competition? Thanks

its probably not that hard to get in but it will be a pain in the but to stay there, i mean there is probably a crap load of training and a crap load of gaining trust!

Assuming you don't have a criminal background it's like any other job. Pressure and competition have a lot to do with where you want to go in the job. Like most jobs if you want to do the same thing through out your career you can avoid these kinds of things. If you plan on moving ahead then you have to compete with others doing the same thing.
It depends what position your applying for.

And what backround you have.

For example, if you have a criminal record you'r obviously not going to be able to get into anything that relates to the Goverment or FBI at all.

You have to have a college degree and experience in things that relate to politics and law.

Law school may be to you'r advantage, considering that it gives you not only a record of experience-- But a positive backround in law and politics which would help you get into more official and higher levels in the goverment.

Techinically, if you're a drop out and have no experience whats-so-ever, you won't even be considered.
