Why do Government workers not want the job they are paid to do? |
Why do Government workers not want the job they are paid to do? In general it's alot harder to fire a government worker than someone working for a private company. Also, most government jobs are in positions where there's no competition. If your waiter or cashier is surly you may start going to a different place to eat or buy groceries, so that person is likely to get fired. If the government worker at the courthouse or whatever is surly, it's not like you can go somewhere else: government functions are often monopolies. I'm sure someone could set up a company which gave drivers' tests, checked that you have insurance, printed up drivers licenses, etc. better, faster, and cheaper than the government does, but nobody's allowed to, so the DMV worker can treat you like garbage and the DMV won't lose any business. because the want less work more pay like all workers Why do you make such broad generalizations without any proof? Because they know that it's highly unlikely they'll ever lose that job, even if they're not "doing" it. Welcome to the bureaucratic Iron Rice Bowl. Mostly, they have a boring job and anyone with a boring job usually dislikes what they do. What the heck do you mean? Govt workers are lazy because they are taught to be and then they get bored and eventually play games with the agency. Because if they look out the window in the morning, then they will have nothing to do in the afternoon. (just a joke) Most-many of the ones (I) have encountered in my life, like their jobs. |
